Taoping Qiang Village: It is regarded as the Mysterious Oriental Castle for its unique architecture and the complicated roads and paths. With a long history of more than 2000 years, the village still keeps the original flavor. In Taoping Qiang Village, there are many towers, vigorous and firm, erecting high to the sky. Some of them are made of earth and stones, some are wood. All of them are well preserved. Even after times of earthquake, the towers are all intact.

Day 3    Ma’erkang/Danba                                                                                                                      Hotel: Danba 318 or same level


Zhonglu Tibetan Village is located in Danba County at the foot of the holy Mo’erduo Mountain. It is an ancient fortified Tibetan village built halfway up the mountain. Stone watchtowers and traditional Tibetan residences are the stand-out characteristics of this place. The homes rest between groves of trees and terraced fields; golden corn and strings of chili peppers are laid out on the rooftops to dry. The most beautiful time of day is when the slanting rays of early morning sunlight or evening twilight bring out the village’s colors. If you have a day to spend here, we recommend walking into and around the village; from different positions on the mountain, you can enjoy views of the village’s overall layout or perhaps discover a fascinating detail in the decoration of a particular building.

Day 4    Danba/Rangtang/Ganzi                                                                                                    Hotel: Shenglong Hotel or same level


Zengke Monastery: Zengke Monstery is a Kagyu sect temple of Tibetan Buddhism, located between Ma’erkang and Rangtang. It’s famous for three 30-meter high mila tower and over 1000 colored pagodas. Mila Tower in this place has nine layers, eight windows, six doors, which represent different morals in Tibetan Buddhism. It’s said that this monastery was built by Zengke Lama Jinmeiesha imitating the stupas built by Milariba in memory of Master Maerba. There are only three places in Tibetan area. Statues in the monastery absorbed different artistic expression bases and formed its own style.

Songge Mani Stone Mound is one of the relics left by King Gesar. The stone mound's width is 47 meters and length is 73 meters, with its highest point reaching 15 meters. When the mound was built and by whom are still riddles to be deciphered. Mani stones are stone plates, rocks and/or pebbles, inscribed with the six syllabledmantra of Avalokiteshvara (Om mani padme hum, hence the name "Mani stone"), as a form of prayer in Tibetan Buddhism. Images of deities and great adepts and sutra texts are also common themes.

Day 6    Shiqu/Mani Gange                                                                                                                      Hotel: Pani Hotel or same level


Bage Mani Stone Wall consists of rows of piled-up Mani stones, engraved or painted with Tibetan Buddhism sayings. It is almost comparable with the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa in Tibetans' hearts. Hundreds of pilgrims would come to pay homage from 4 o'clock in the morning to 8 in the evening. Since Sangye Phuntsok, the first Bage Rinpoche laid the first Mani stone on the Tashikhar grassland in 1671, countless pilgrims around the country have visited and added holy stones to the site. The result is a wall that stretches 1.75 kilometers in length and stands about 3.5 meters high, embedded with more than 3,000 stone statues and over 6,000 Buddhist scriptures.

Day 7    Mani Gange/ Yilhun Lhatso/Dege                                                                           Hotel: Que’er Mountain Hotel or same level


Xinluhai Nature Reserve: Xinluhai, also called Yihun Lhatso in Tibetan, is a legendary lake. Legend has it that princess Zhumu, wife of King Gesar, once came to the lake. Attracted by the beautiful sceneries, she was reluctant to leave. Her feeling for the picturesque land sunk into the lake bed, and so came the name of the lake to commemorate her. Xinluhai (Yilhun Lhatso or Yulong Lake), located under the foot of Que’er Mountain in Manigange town, is made by effects of glanciation, with an altitude over 4500m. Glittering and translucent large glaciers from Xinluhai and surrounding ecology rushing down to the riverside grassland presents spectacular scenery.

Day 8    Dege /Baiyu                                                                                                                         Hotel: Huazang Hotel or same level


Gatuo Monastery: Gatuo monastery is located on the mountain top in Hepo village, at the eastern bank of Jinshajiang River, between Dege and Baiyu County. On the way there, a line of snow mountain peaks unfold before you, just like a roll of Chinese painting. Gatuo monastery takes a land area over 1 square kilometer, huge in size. It is the first Nyingmapa monastery built in Kham area, its affiliated monasteries are rampant in Amdo and Kham area, even in Nepal, India and other western countries have its affiliates. Except for different dharma assemblies held every year, there is also a large Buddha ceremony every four years. 
Baiyu Monastery: Baiyu Monastery (Palyul Monastery) is one of the six great “mother monasteries” following the Nyingma School, or Ancient Translation Tradition, of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery was founded in 1665 in the Kham province of eastern Tibet (present-day Baiyu, Sichuan, China) by Kunzang Sherab, the First Baiyu throne Holder.

Day 9    Baiyu/Ganzi                                                Shenglong Hotel or same level


Pass by Chaqing Songduo Nature Reserve: Located in northeast of Baiyu County, Chaqing Songduo Nature Reserve is mainly to protect white-lippes deer, argali and other rare animals. Altitude of this place extends from 3600m at the lowest point to 5725m at the highest point. Beautiful sceneries, original and complete natural ecology, and a great variety of rare animals make Chaqing Songduo a paradise for rare animals.

itinerary analysis: We choose to return to the city by the north part of Sichuan – Tibetan Highway, that’s because, compared with Ganzi – Xinlong – Litang, the road condition is much better, and so is the accommodation conditions, also, we don’t have to repeat the way by which we arrive there.

Day 11    Xinduqiao/Kangding                                                                                                           Hotel: Kangba Hotel or same level


Jiagenba Tibetan Village: The Jiagenba Village is situated on the alluvial plain in the Ganzi Tibet Autonomous Prefecture at an elevation of up to 3,200 meters. It is populated by Tibetans. Here you can enjoy Tibetan architecture which is awash in vivid colors and learn the patterns of Tibetan life. This place is also an important channel and stop of Ancient Tea-horse Road, as well as an important component of Xinduqiao, a paradise for photographer.
